Pleasanton Auto Repair

It's so frusterating as a woman who knows nothing about cars to have to go and get it repaired when something goes wrong. I just know wherever I take it they're bound to take advantage of that fact and charge me an arm and a leg for some bogus repairs. I had to face this recently when my breaks started acting up.I live in Lafayette, but after two bad break jobs (including one from the dealer) I was finally steered towards this place. I hesitated because its a bit far for me all the way in Pleasanton. I thought for sure they're had to be someone closer that I could go to. I finally bit the bullet after being told by a THIRD mechanic that it was going to cost me another $700 to fix my "already repaired" breaks. After about 20 minutes Joe had diagnosed my car, charged significantly less than $700 and sent me on my merry way. My breaks worked great after that and now I make the 30 minute drive to Joe EVERY time I need car repairs. I know I can trust him to be straight up with me and not try and take advantage of my lack of car knowledge.

Domestic Autopro is great. Joe is very knowledgeable and runs a great shop! Joe can relate to you on almost every issue you can think of with your car and follow up with the proper solution to fix it and he will keep you informed on the progress. I definately recommend him for any diagnostic, repair or maintenance work you may have and will be returning to him myself in the future. This shop is great. I was referred to Joe and I must say he is always fair, reasonable and helpful. I have also thrown a curve ball or two at him with some emergency fixes for my father when he was in town and had a problem. No problem for this shop. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. What a unique experience when it comes to automotive repair! Not only are they professional and friendly, but they're also fast, on time, and provide quality oriented service. We took my daughter's Dodge Diesel Dually for one main problem and to look at a couple of other potential issues. They diagnosed the main problem as something completely different than experienced "diesel mechanics", and fixed what turned out to not be a major issue after all, savings us a lot of $. They also provided a complete breakdown of what was required to resolve the other issues and spent time explaining. The vehicle was completed on time and as quoted and we've had no issues since. As mentioned above, what a unique experience! We're going back to Domestic Autopro!

Just love to work with Joe !! He is easy to talk to and helps me to understand what he is doing and why. I really feel like he is NOT taking advantage of me and that is a really important factor. Plus you get the personal touch - that if I took my car to the Subaru dealership - would definitely not happen. Joe is honest and does not over charge - so why would you go anywhere else!!!???

My 94 Jeep engine blew up. Only 205,522 miles on it. I've maintained the oil changes on a regular basis but it never needed any other work done on it, so I didn't even know where to have it towed. I got bids from all over the valley, read internet reviews and choose Domestic Autopro because of the professionalism that came over the telephone. When I arrived to interview them, before having the car towed there, a customer came walking out and I asked her how she liked their service. She said, "Oh I wouldn't take my car anywhere else." That cinched it. The biggest surprise when I got there was, how clean and organized their shop is. The mechanic was happily singing while he was working. Joe kept me updated almost daily of the progress. I've never seen a team work so efficiently together as these two. I'm just about ready for the first oil change. My Jeep has been running beautifully again and I am again the happiest woman Jeep owner in the valley.

Highly recommend this place for all your auto repairs. Domestic AutoPro is professional and curtious. I take both my Jeep and my Scion to Domestic AutoPro and I get great prices and honesty, which is usually what you don't get from mechanics now of days. Joe is the owner of Domestic AutoPro and really strives to earn you business with honesty and great service. If I could give Domestic AutoPro 10 stars I would.

Stellar. I didn't even know that one of the lights was out, until I saw it for myself in Joe's garage. Taking off the grill work to get to the light was a pain, but Joe & his associate managed to do it. The replacement light was ordered 'on the spot,' delivered within an hour, and installed soon thereafter.

Joe did a great job doing just what was required, and not a boatload more like most shops foist on you. He's our repair man now.
